Answer

The Department has received advice from the Chief Medical Officer in relation to the Coronavirus epidemic which has been shared with Translink. In addition to ensuring that my Department and all the Arm Length Bodies Business Continuity Plans are in place, my officials continue to engage with colleagues across the NI Civil Service and Whitehall in relation to our readiness and resilience.

In addition to the precautionary measures Translink is also undertaking through regular deep cleaning of its fleet. It will continue to engage with the Public Health Authority in respect of its day to day operations. I can confirm that the safety of its customers and staff will remain the organisation’s main priority.
