Answer
The Utility Regulator’s PC21 Final Determination outlines an investment requirement of some £2 billion capital funding for water and sewerage services over the six financial years from 2021/22 to 2026/27. This represents an increase of 102% compared to PC15.
The capital investment required each year is contained within the Price Control 21 Final Determination, as follows;
| PC 21 Capital DEL | 2021/22 | 2022/23 | 2023/24 | 2024/25 | 2025/26 | 2026/27 | Total |
| £m | £m | £m | £m | £m | £m | £m | |
| 178.6 | 251.2 | 327.3 | 438.2 | 449.4 | 405.7 | 2050.4 |
My department has committed £215.6m Capital DEL for 2021/22. This represents full funding as determined by the Utility Regulator for 2021-22. I have also provided additional capital budget allocation to NI Water this year, to accelerate the delivery of PC21 projects, and to begin to address the issues of historic underinvestment in our water and sewerage service.
