Answer
On 4th June 2021, I published ‘Making Belfast an Active City – Belfast Cycling Network 2021’ (1). The development of the Belfast Cycling Network is aimed at providing good quality routes throughout the city so that the majority of the population will have the freedom and confidence to cycle for everyday travel. Sections 6.4 – 6.7 of the document outline the role that Family Friendly or Low Traffic Neighbourhoods could have in reducing the dominance of motor vehicles throughout the city and in the creation of a liveable city for the benefit of all our citizens. There are currently no Low Traffic Neighbourhoods in Northern Ireland.
