Answer
The Sixtowns Road is a lightly trafficked rural road which is routinely inspected by the Department every three months as part of our scheduled maintenance programme.
In 2019, the Department completed two significant resurfacing schemes on this road and renewed and upgraded a large section of drainage to help alleviate problems with surface water on the road surface.
In June 2021 the Department completed a further significant resurfacing scheme along a 2.5km section of this road, which also included some localised widening.
Officials will continue to inspect and repair any actionable defects in line with current maintenance guidelines.
