Answer

I recognise the value of and need to expand upon initiatives such as Don’t Mow Let it Grow and my officials are liaising with Ards and North Down Council officials to explore adopting this initiative within the council area.

My Department remains committed to reviewing its environmental policies to promote pollinator-friendly practices and to encourage their application on road schemes. I can confirm that officials are also engaging with Ulster Wildlife on this matter with the aim of further enhancing the available biodiversity resource along our roads.
