Answer
By way of update to AQW 13669/17-22, the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) is progressing a programme of work to move towards the full acceptance of credit and debit card payments for the services it provides.
Work that is currently underway includes the ability to apply online for a first provisional driving licence and the renewal of vocational driving licences for lorry and bus drivers. It is anticipated these new online services will be implemented this financial year. The DVA is also planning to introduce electronic payments to enable Approved Tachograph Centres to pay for their periodic approval inspection fees using credit or debit card payments.
