Answer

As part of measures to aid social distancing during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Hill Street and Gordon Street were temporarily closed to motor traffic on 17 May 2020.

My officials have been working with the local business community and the Cathedral Quarter BID since then, to amend changes to the road layout to ensure appropriate access is permitted.

I met with stakeholders on 16 March 2021 to take on board any concerns and my officials are currently working on a proposal to consult with residents and business owners in the area to reach an agreed way forward.
