Answer
Following publication of ‘Making Belfast an Active City – Belfast Cycling Network 2021’ on 4th June last year, officials have been working on a Delivery Plan for the Network. The Member may be aware that I published this Delivery Plan on 24th March.
The Delivery Plan identifies individual schemes for the delivery of the Belfast Cycling Network and orders them into three groups for delivery: short term (2022 – 25); medium term (2025 – 28); and, long term (2028 – 31). It also provides information on how my Department will take these projects forward, subject to budget allocations. It is important to emphasise that this is not a static plan. It will be dynamic, responding to changes in the needs of the people of this city and will be reviewed on a regular basis.
